I’m looking for advice on a video doorbell available in Australia that will work well with my setup, but I’m also trying to keep things simple (minimal programming/setup).
My setup:
- Android tablets running dashboards via Home Habit
- Tablets are wall-mounted and used as the main home control interface
What I want:
- When the doorbell is pressed:
- It chimes
- The screensaver stops and a live video feed pops up automatically on the tablets
Ideally:
- Works with Home Assistant (or similar) - and obvuily home habbit
- Easy integration (not a super complex setup)
- Clean way to trigger automations + show camera feed
I’m also wondering:
- Can something like a Google Nest Doorbell do this easily?
- Or is that too locked into Google Home / cloud and harder to use for popups on Android dashboards?
