We bought the Nuki lock for our vacation home – exactly for this advertised use case.
However, the lock has decided to go offline, and our vacation home is no longer usable until the issue is resolved.
The Nuki support is extremely difficult to reach – wait times of 20 minutes or more are not uncommon. But even when you get through, the support team doesn’t provide much help, apart from suggesting a factory reset – which is simply not feasible for a vacation home located far away.
After a lot of pushing, a technician finally got in touch after 3 ½ days to take a look at the issue. According to him, the fix requires a firmware update. So, the product is essentially being developed at the customer’s expense.
The lock might work well if you use it for your own home and have a spare key. But for vacation homes, it’s absolutely unsuitable. Additionally, the support is terrible.
I regret the day I decided to go with Nuki.
