Would it be possible to bind widgets to local device controls to adjust things like brightness and volume for the tablet/phone?
Excellent idea. 
And support for the value of the light sensor. It will be great if the values can be set and/or get by a API.
For me, it’s more interesting to control the screen brightness from a remote system (openHAB), as well as turn the screen on and off.
