Light states not shown on startup

Great app, and almost perfect for my needs, except for the below.

I am on v1 beta 20. When first running Homehabit, light states are not shown. Switching lights on/off will show the correct state. The state is also not retained if I switch to another app and back to Homehabit.

@BetaProject Glad you like the app!

Can you provide more details about your setup:

  • what is the platform you are using?
  • Android device and OS version?

I am running HassIO, and HomeHabit is installed on a Huawei Y9 Prime running Android 9

@igor
I discovered your app on the PlayStore a few days ago. I installed it (Rev. 39.3) and I am delighted. Even if it’s still not quite clear what’s meant or how it’s supposed to work.
For example, there is what betaproject has already described.
I switch on a light using Tasmota WiFi (MQTT). I do this from HomeHabit. It works perfectly. I also installed HomeHabit on a second Android device. The same rev (39.3) and the same setup is installed on both Androids. So when I switch on the light on Android 1, the light is also signalled on Android 2. It works the other way around. I use the retain flag for the light when subscribing. When the screen goes blank on the Androids and I launch the app again (either from standby or as a new instance), the widget just shows “–”.
Am I doing something wrong? The “on” information is available in the topic on the broker. I thought that when the Client reconnects to the Broker, all associated topics are resent to the Client? Is this not the case?

Please clarify!
