How does roller shutter work?

Hi,
I am testing the roller shutter widget with OPENHAB 2.
But I am having some issues:

  1. it doesn’t find any item to link the widget to.
    Which items does it support? Can you post an example of item configuration for Openhab that works with Rotini?

  2. Even if it doesn’t find any item, if I press the UP button, the center icon switces on, and if I press the DOWN button the center icon is switched off. Why is this? Shouldn’t it says that there is no connected item? How can I see if the roller is really up or down?

  3. It there a way of stopping the roller shutter? I tried pressing the center icon but it doesn’t seem to be “pressable”.
