The Photo of the Day integration is cool…
Is it possible to use it as a single page backdrop?
Being able to do so would allow for some cool looking designs similar to Dakboard.
This is planned. Any image (or collection) item will be bindable as dashboard backdrop.

Great news @igor is there a way currently to link the backdrop to an image item so we could change it based on something like time of day or weather condition?
No, not possible at this time.
